NEST New York Wild Mint & Eucalyptus Candle

It earns its place on the shelf. The scent opens clean and cool — mint first, then eucalyptus underneath — and it stays that way through the last hour of the burn.

TL;DR Summary

4.5/5 Excellent

Pros

  • Scent is genuinely balanced — mint and eucalyptus share space without competing
  • Substantial glass vessel feels built to last and repurpose well
  • Even wax pool from the first burn; no tunneling
  • Up to 60-hour burn time holds up in real use
  • Throw is confident but not overpowering — works in lived-in rooms

Cons

  • Lid doesn't seal, so unlit candles collect dust in open spaces
  • Price is on the higher end for regular, unsentimental use
  • Scent leans cool and green — not a cozy or warm-weather crossover

Extended Observations

It earns its place on the shelf. The scent opens clean and cool — mint first, then eucalyptus underneath — and it stays that way through the last hour of the burn.

This candle earned its place. I light it in the morning when I want the room to feel like somewhere I chose to be. The Wild Mint & Eucalyptus reads clean without tipping into clinical — mint arrives first, sharp and bright, and eucalyptus follows like a slow exhale. Neither note crowds the other.

The glass vessel is heavier than I expected. Satisfying weight. The walls are thick enough that it doesn't feel disposable, and NEST calls it reusable — which it is, once you've cleaned out the last of the wax. I've used mine for pencils. It holds its shape and its dignity.

Sixty hours is the claim. In a medium room with a door, I find that credible. The throw isn't aggressive. It fills the space without announcing itself. That restraint is what I keep coming back to — this is a scent that works in the background, not one that needs to be the whole conversation.

The wax pools evenly. No tunneling after the first burn, which tells you something about the wick placement. I trim before each light and the flame stays steady. No soot on the glass, no drift.

Two small notes: the lid is purely decorative — it doesn't seal, so store it away from dust if you're leaving it unlit for a while. And the price sits at the higher end of what I'd call everyday. Not a candle you burn through carelessly. But if you treat it right, it gives back in kind.

Our Verdict

It earns its place on the shelf. The scent opens clean and cool — mint first, then eucalyptus underneath — and it stays that way through the last hour of the burn.
